Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation
(OGBC)
Indroduction
The Corporation was established by Ogun State Government Edict
No. 3 titled Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation Edict 1976 as
contained in the Government Gazette No. 6, Volume 2 of February,
1977. The Edict was amended in 2001 and 2006 respectively as Ogun
State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC).

The Station transmits in Abeokuta on a frequency of 603 KHZ, in
the medium wave band on AM Channel Transmitter DX 50 HARRIS, located
at Ayetoro Road and on a frequency of 90.5FM, at its corporate
head office OGBC Broadcasting House, KLM 9, Olabisi Onabanjo Way,
Ajebo Road, Abeokuta.
Like most organizations, OGBC’s operational structure is
pyramidal, with the Board of Directors at the apex followed by
the General Manager, Management and other functionaries.
The day-to-day running of the Corporation is entrusted to the General
Manager, the Chief Accounting Officer, who is responsible to the
Governor and the Board in connection with policy matters. The supervising
ministry is the Ministry of Information and Orientation.
There are six (6) Directorates under the Corporation’s organizational
structure and these are:
General Manager’s office
Administration
Engineering
Programmes and News
Marketing
Finance
These Directorates with their various units work in tandem to
achieve the corporate objectives of the organization. The General
Manager is saddled with the responsibility of harnessing, controlling
and supervising the operations of all the departments towards the
attainment of the set goals.
